Jeannie Judd

As a wellness counselor and the owner of Judd Wellness, my goal is to help clients align their mental and
physical health with spiritual well-being. With a unique background in mental health, energy medicine, yoga,
and brain/body integration, I’ve worked with a wide range of individuals teaching mindfulness, self-calming
techniques and brain balance exercises to optimize learning and overall health.

My own journey started when I was a Behavioral Science Specialist in the U.S. Army, providing stress
management, suicide intervention, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) counseling, and domestic abuse
treatment to active-duty soldiers and their families. I co-facilitated men’s groups that provided stress
management and coping mechanisms for soldiers diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. I was also a member of
several critical event debriefing teams, including the 1995 terrorist bombing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I provided
counseling services and support to soldiers, civilian contractors, and multinationals during the aftermath to
prevent long-term PTSD symptoms.

After completing my service with the U.S. Army, I received my BS in Psychology from the University of
Massachusetts, Boston, and my MS in Counseling and Human Development from Long Island University. Soon after,
I began my role as Information & Referral Program Manager at the United States Military Academy, West Point,
New York. I worked with soldiers, their families, and local communities to build rapport and provide various
services and educational programs. It was during this time that the 9/11 terrorist attack occurred. Having
previously witnessed the effects of a terrorist attack firsthand, I used my background in critical event
debriefings to volunteer with a program that provided counseling and support for first responders and victims.
When I became a stay-at-home mom during my husband’s 15-month deployment to Iraq, my focus shifted to
parenting and integrative techniques for learning and health. As the mother of two academically gifted children
showing attention deficit traits, executive function, and sensory processing issues, it became personal to me. My
passion for wellness began when I broadened my knowledge of alternative methods to reduce the use of
medication in my children’s lives. With college degrees focusing primarily on mental health, I knew I had the
mind component of the wellness model covered, so I pursued training in the spiritual and physical components of
wellness.

I eventually became the Director of Wellness and Gifted Programs for Union Pointe Academy, where I assisted
with the launch of the private school geared towards students whose needs weren’t met by public school. In this
role, I provided brain/body integration sessions and coordinated weekly educational experiences and service
projects.

Over the past several years, I’ve become a certified yoga instructor, trained Ashtanga teacher, certified Reiki
master, and certified Karuna Ki master, and certified Reiki Grand Master. I have also trained in Sound Healing,
Brain Gym, Bal-A-Vis-X, and rhythmic movement. I’ve instructed such classes as Beginning Yoga, Prenatal Yoga,
Ashtanga Primary Series, Heated Flow, Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga with Reiki, and taught yoga at youth
programs in elementary and middle schools in California. I’ve also provided workshops and training in
Mindfulness, REIKI, professional team building, and general wellness education. To further my education in this
ever-changing field, I’m currently completing courses in brain health coaching with Dr. Amen, as well as classes
in holistic health and wellness coaching.

At Judd Wellness, I work with clients who want to reduce stress, become mindful, and achieve balance in their
daily lives. My experience includes children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and sensory
processing and generalized anxiety issues. My work with geriatric patients includes those diagnosed with
dementia, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s. I also provide group workshops on such topics as mindfulness, stress
management, team building, brain/body integration for optimal learning, and Reiki teacher training.
