Infrared light is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that people encounter most in everyday life, although much of it goes unnoticed. It is invisible to the human eye, but people can feel it as heat. Think of when you’re sunbathing pool side and you can feel the warmth of the sun throughout your entire body or when you're sitting around a camp fire.

Infrared rays are healthy. With powerful detoxifying abilities, it dissolves harmful substances that have accumulated in your body. Our sauna uses infrared light to produce warmth that penetrates the skin at cellular level, raising your core temperature to produce a deep, detoxifying sweat within your skin, muscles, joints and tendons.

We’ve added Himalayan salt to our

sauna to double the benefits!

Himalayan salt helps to stimulate the respiratory system. Its natural qualities help to improve breathing, reduce inflammation and clear stubborn mucus. The warmth of the sauna activates the negative ions in the salt, neutralizing your environment and creating a relaxing atmosphere.

The basic goal of our sauna is to make you sweat by sending waves of infrared light through your entire body. In order to sweat, your heart is forced to pump at a faster rate. When your heart’s beats per minute rise, your blood vessels begin to vasodilate (expand) and as more oxygenated blood is pumped through your arteries and blood vessels, your body begins to burn stored energy. This boosts your metabolism and burns more energy and unleashes a chain reaction of really great perks.

Weight Loss

The human body’s metabolic rate is tied directly to cardiovascular exercise, rising when you preform activities such as swimming, jogging, playing sports or working out. Even after exercise, the body’s metabolism remains high. Infrared saunas work in a similar manner, causing your body to sweat, forcing your heart to work harder and in turn, increasing your metabolism. This increase in metabolism is great for subtle weight loss.

Weight loss should be paired alongside healthy dietary choices, exercise and adequate water intake.

Cell Health

When your arteries and blood vessels are dilated, it stimulates the body’s circulatory system. This helps to clean your arteries, blood vessels and venules and sends more oxygenated blood throughout the body. Better circulation also allows for more toxins to flow from adipose (fat) cells, to the surface of the skin. This improves your cellular health and assists in boosting your immune system, faster muscle recovery, tissue growth and quicker wound healing.

Detoxification

We are exposed to a number of pollutants, preservatives, pesticides, heavy metals and poisons over the course of our lifetime. If left inside your body, these toxins will interact with enzymes and confuse our cells in a way that keeps them from functioning normally. Sweating is the body’s natural way of purging impurities and maintaining a healthy state. The human body has millions of microscopic sweat glands that are infused with fluid brought there by the bloodstream. When those glands empty, it brings fluid to the surface that acts as a cooling mechanism and it releases toxins from your body.

A few things you can do outside of the sauna to help with detoxification include eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and reducing exposure to smoke, smog and other pollutants.

Skin Health

After using an infrared sauna, your skin become more permeable as blood vessels dilate and more blood comes to the surface. Millions of sweat glands activate, release and empty to the skins surface, purging heavy metals and other toxins from your skin. This purification process leaves your skin feeling soft, cleaner and healthier.

Additionally, users with psoriasis and other skin conditions can take benefit as well.

Immune Health

When the body is heated, sick and/or diseased cells, bacteria and viruses can’t survive. Heating the body is a great way to avoid, if not prevent and eliminate infections. The body’s immune system gets a huge boost when you spend time in an infrared sauna. As the body’s temperature elevates, it creates a “false fever”, triggering white blood cells and creating a hostile environment for bacteria and viruses within the body. Those white blood cells search out the weakened, diseased cells and obliterate them.

You can also help your immune system out more by drinking plenty of water, eating healthy, reducing your stress levels and getting enough sleep.

Stress Relief

When you’re stressed, your body triggers the fight or flight response and releases adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline increases your heart rate and cortisol tells your body that it’s under attack, even if it’s not. This constant release of hormones into your blood stream, day-in and day-out, will take a toll your body. The heat and warmth of an infrared sauna helps to remove your body from fight or flight mode, helping you enter a more relaxed state.

Pain Relief

The heat that an infrared sauna produces has the ability to penetrate joints, muscles, tissues and nerve endings, drawing more oxygenated blood to problem areas. The heat can speed up muscle recovery and allow for a greater range of motion, better circulation, and faster healing of wounds, muscles, strains, pulls and tears.

Arthritis Pain

Infrared saunas not only provide relief from pain, but with consistent use, can relieve chronic arthritis pain. The gentle heat loosens and removes mineral deposits from your joints, where circulation is usually lower. Using an infrared sauna promotes increased circulation, increased mobility, pain and stress relief, and allows you to pursue a more active lifestyle and accentuates a better mood.

Fibromyalgia Pain

The pain from fibromyalgia is constant, exhausting and disruptive. Fibromyalgia is a disorder distinguished by widespread musculoskeletal pain. This can be accompanied by fatigue, sleepiness, foggy memory and mood disorders. At this time there is no actual cure, yet there are many medications available that can control its symptoms. Symptoms are minimized by the soothing heat of an infrared sauna, as it naturally reduces the pain and inflammation they experience. Infrared heat penetrates deeply within the body, increasing circulation, decreasing muscle spasms and reducing the soreness of painful nerve endings.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is caused by the bacteria borrelia burgdorferi (B burgdorferi) and it’s transmitted to humans through the bite of infected deer ticks. People who have Lyme disease have a difficult time sweating and this will lead to a buildup of neurotoxins. It can cause life time debilitating effects such as arthritis, general fatigue, malaise and neurological deficits.

When you first start using an infrared sauna to treat Lyme disease, you should start slowly, only using the sauna for 15 minutes, 1 to 2 times a week. Gradually increase your time. Infrared sauna detoxification benefits assist the immune system and furthers the healing process while increasing circulation, invigorating the body and allowing medication to efficiently reach all parts of the body.
